Something about a hot cup of tea calms the soul. With the semester coming to an end, all of my classes seem to have reared their ugly heads and are bombarding my life with projects, tests, quizzes, homework assignments, and papers.
So, my stress levels are a little bit higher than normal and a soul calmer of any kind is welcomed warmly.
Normally I’m a Chamomile tea enthusiast, but lately I’ve been really into making fresh mint tea. I had never really thought of using fresh mint for tea before, but I had some extra leaves on hand that I needed to use up and figured I would give it a whirl.
Mint has many health benefits, but here are just a few:
- calming & soothing
- helps with nausea & indigestion
- high in antioxidants
- aids digestion
- thought to encourage bile secretion and flow, which help lower cholesterol.
Making fresh mint tea is really simple.
What you’ll need:
- a handful of fresh mint
- honey/stevia/any sweetener of your choice
- hot water
What to do:
- wash your mint leaves
- put leaves and honey into a tea-cup
- boil some water
- pour the water into your cup
- stir
- let steep for 3-7 minutes
- drink & be happy!
