  1. Hi!
I found your article on accutane tips quite informative! I am on my second dose right now at 27 years old. I was wondering if you noticed lingering joint/muscle pain after your duration? Perhaps we could chat about it if you have the time! Thank you for your time,
    Megan

    1. Hi Megan!
I continued having symptoms of dry skin, dry scalp, and sore muscles/ joints for about 2 months after I finished my treatment. The medicine stays in your system for about 30 days after you stop taking it. After the first 30 days, my symptoms lessened and by the end of the 2nd month, my skin was no longer peeling and my muscle pain was gone.
      I hope this helps!

  2. I’m 35 and starting Accutane in a month. I have also gone through the whole list of prescriptions since 11, and wanting to do this so I don’t have a lifetime of acne medications. Ive heard about people taking an antideppresant while on Accutane. How did you find your mood and your feeling about your skin during treatment?

    1. Hi Lee! I did not take an antidepressant while on Accutane. I was really excited to go on the medicine because I was excited to get rid of my acne. The first few months, however, were extremely frustrating because of the side effects. My lips were chapped and my joints hurt constantly. Being uncomfortable was stressful and may have depressed my mood slightly, but I never became depressed while on the medicine. I had not suffered with depression before going on the medicine so my doctor didn’t think an antidepressant was necessary. I hope this answers your question!
