Oh hey friends 👋🏻 I know that I have been M.I.A. for a while. I have unapologetically ebbed and flowed with my frequency of blog content over the years, but this time I wanted to be here, my time was just swept up by other things and my blog had to take a temporary backseat.
First of all, this spring and summer have been full of weird and uncomfy new challenges and unique circumstances. I’ve been working from home ever since mid-March. I’m a bit of a people person (people who know me in person can laugh at that understatement) so let’s just say that not going to the office every day has been a bit of an adjustment. I’ve always said working from home is the dream, but after 4 months of it I’ve come to the firm conclusion that a flexible schedule that allows for both work from home and time spent in a collaborative space is the new dream.
I’ve been focusing a ton on my photography business which probably would not even exist if it wasn’t for this blog making me pick up a camera and start snapping photos of my life years ago. I stumbled around a lot with my photography style and have resisted actually pursuing a photography business for years. The perfectionist in me would always compare my photos to others or my following to others and leave me feeling completely defeated. The pressure of messing up was so overwhelming and made me not want to do it. After years of fighting it however, I decided that no one is going to take a photo or edit a photo the same way I do and that is my strength.
The most exciting bit of news that I have though is that Andrew and I bought a house! If you follow my Insta you will know that Andrew and I closed on our first home together on June 8th. We have been spending what feels like every waking moment searching for house stuff or working on the house. I will be sharing a post about our home buying process soon. We took our time house hunting and learned a lot along the way and I thought it might be helpful to share our journey. We are documenting our house progress and design ideas on a new Instagram @OurHouseStory. If you have any interested in decor/DIY projects/cleaning – feel free to follow along.
My blogging has been energized by so many different topics over the years. It’s crazy to think that a blog I started to vent about skin and to share skincare tips has evolved and expanded to personal think pieces, grocery hauls, recipes, and makeup reviews. This blog has consistently been a reflection of my actual life and I want to keep it that way. While I still have some skincare tips to give and products to rave about, my free time is not as saturated by skin care and beauty as it once was. In this new season of life and ultimately a new season of Always, Andreanna, you can expect more home decor/home cleaning tips from me, DIYs, chit-chats here and there, recipes, more everyday magic (a series that I started and shamefully abandoned), and some travel guides.
Love always,
