Our little family grew by one yesterday. After months of debating when we will get our second dog, yesterday God laughed at all
of our planning and threw us a not-so-furry curveball. On our way home from the beach, while driving through a small beach town, we passed a church and saw this small pup standing in its front lawn. After a quick U-turn, we hopped out of our car and this pup came barreling towards us with her tail wagging. She was covered in mange and didn’t have a collar or any signs of being spayed. With the hurricane coming we knew we couldn’t leave her, so we wrapped her in our beach towels and drove her 10 hours home. She slept most of the way home with little outbursts of wanting to play.
We are calling her Mae (Mayhem/Mabel/Sweet Baby Mae/Mae Bae Bae)
We think she is about 4 months old and a yellow lab mix. The vet diagnosed her this morning with Demodectic mange which is very treatable and not contagious to humans or other dogs. She has many medicated baths ahead of her before her hair is fully grown back, but she is as playful and goofy as any pup could be.
Mia and her were fast friends. Mia is very excited to no longer be an only child and finally have a sister to share her yard with.
Always,
