Hello beautiful friends & happy October! ๐๐ป.
If you’re new here, welcome to my Everyday Magic series.
Everyday magic is a monthly list of things that have been bringing me joy during the month. The list will be an eclectic combination of the exciting and the ordinary, the obviously newsworthy and the mundane. It will contain anything from events to books to products.
It has been chilly here in NC in the mornings and evenings & I have been loving every minute. We have even been turning on our fireplace in the early mornings. If you’ve been reading my blogs since the beginning, you will be more than familiar with what I’m about to say, but fall is my favorite season. Fall each year is always my most productive, creative, inspired, and exciting season. Something about the cooler weather and the upcoming excitement and busyness of the holidays energizes me.
We had a super busy September between my best friend’s wedding, Andrew’s birthday, photoshoots, and work just being busy for both of us. I wish I could say October will slow down a bit, but it is going to be even crazier, but I’m super excited about it.
To start Fall 2020 off I wanted to share some fall-themed everyday magic.
-Fall decor. This is our first fall in our house and I have had so much fun decorating. I’ve tried really hard to not go too crazy. Since this is our first home and we still don’t have a lot of “regular” decorations yet, I didn’t want to spend lots of time and money buying fall decorations only to have to change them out for Christmas decor in November and then be left with no decorations to leave out after Christmas. So I’ve bought a few things here and there just to put an autumn spin on my non-seasonal decor.
-Candles. I don’t think I really need to explain this one… do I?
-Mrs. Meyerโs products in Spiced Pumpkin. I made an impulsive decision one night before bed to sign up for the Grove Collaborative. It’s a subscription service for eco-friendly home essentials. The fall scented Mrs. Myers’ line was my main motivation for joining, but I also wanted a new bubble up soap dish and dish brush (judge me). I have the Mrs. Meyer’s Acorn Spice soap set as well, but I’m saving that for after Thanksgiving. It just smelled more like Christmas to me. From the Grove, I also got Mrs. Meyer’s Spiced Pumpkin Multi-Surface Spray. Wiping down one counter will make the entire kitchen smell of yummy pumpkin.
-Our coffee game. Andrew & I have seriously stepped up our coffee game these past few weeks. We snagged some very cute mugs from Target, some Pumpkin Cheesecake Skinny Syrup from HomeGoods, and the Silk Pumpkin Spice Almond Creamer from Harris Teeter. We have even been adding cinnamon to our coffee grounds before we brew as well.
-These fuzzy slippers. I ordered these slippers off of Amazon and have been basically living in them ever since. They have a memory foam sole and are SO wonderful.
-Slow moments on our front porch. Most mornings we sneak out to our front porch for a few minutes and sip on our coffee until its time to hop online for the day. It’s been a sweet way to start the day enjoying the peaceful sounds on our front porch and chatting.
-Oui by Yoplait. So this may not sound very fall-y, but I’ve been obsessed with Oui yogurts lately. What does put a fall spin on it is 1. they came out with delicious fall flavors & 2. I’m saving the glass jars to make candles in. Can’t get much more autumn than that! ๐
-Kristen Ess Dry Shampoo Powder. I found this gem at Target the other day. For a solid year, I’ve been faithful to the Briogeo Dry Shampoo Powder, but Kristen Ess’ Dry Shampoo Powder beats it by miles. It comes with a pump so you can pump the powder into your hair instead of having to shake it. It also doesn’t really have a scent which I actually really enjoy. It creates fabulous volume and soaks into my hair and scalp so quickly (aka no powder-y grey hair).
Thats all for today friends! Happy Fall!
