Hey friends! I wanted to share how I made our dough bowl center piece for our kitchen table. I promise it looks much more complicated than it was! I wanted something unique for our centerpiece so I was 100% set on making it myself. I also wanted something that I could easily take out of the dough bowl to replace with seasonal items if I wanted to.
I decided to grab a rectangular foam block from Hobby Lobby and just build my arrangement on that. I didn’t glue anything in. Everything is either stuck into the foam block or just sitting on it.
What you’ll need :
- a dough bowl (I grabbed mine at a local antique mall, but you can find them anywhere. I’ve even seen them at Target
- 3 white pillar candles – Hobby Lobby or Amazon
- lambs ear stems
- flowers of your choice
- eucalyptus stems
- other greenery stems of your choice
- a green foam block – Walmart, Hobby Lobby or Amazon
What to do :
I started by cutting down all of my stems. You’ll want smaller pieces so that the stems are short enough to be stuck into the foam so that the leaves of the greenery are as close to the block as possible. I placed the 3 candles in the center and then started adding the greenery in around it. I played around a lot with the placement of each stem or flower. That was the great thing about not hot gluing anything…no commitment. I added the flowers last to fill any spaces that the greenery didn’t.
Honestly, you can make this look however you like and I think thats the beauty of it. Its so easy and completely customizable to fit any look and any home.
I hope you guys enjoyed this mini DIY tutorial! If you make one, I’d love to see them!
Love always,
