Happy Tuesday friends!! I had an incredibly productive weekend and so far the week is off to a productive start so I figured I’d hop on here this morning and get a weekly diary out for you.
We are 96 days away from our wedding and I cannot tell you how quickly these final months are flying by. After counting down from 600+ days, seeing only double digits on the countdown is insane.
Last week was a 4-day work-week thanks to the holiday weekend.
Monday. Since we both had the day off from work, we took the day to spend time resting and recharging. Saturday and Sunday we were really busy so it was nice to have a day to just relax. We meal prepped some for the week, I made garlic confit, 2-ingredient watermelon jello, and then we spent the rest of the afternoon at the pool. We are hooked on watching Suits right now so we made dinner and cozied up on the couch for the evening and binged several episodes.
Tuesday. Felt like a Monday. Work was hectic and full of meetings. I stuck to pretty simple meals throughout the day. Cereal has been my go-to breakfast lately. Its like my summer time oatmeal. Its just gluten free cheerios, almond milk, and fresh berries. I get protein from my morning protein coffee and it rounds out to be a very balanced meal.
Wednesday. On Wednesday, I had a lot of packages arrive in the mail. I filmed a few videos on my lunch break of trying new items or opening packages.
In one of those packages was 3 flavors of Protein Cookie Butter Powder. We are trying Cookies & Cream, Brownie Batter, and Peanut Butter Cookie. I have been adding them to my protein coffee in the morning and it really elevates the flavor so it tastes less like protein and more a like a sweet treat. For a little dessert on Wednesday night we made a protein chocolate cake topped with protein icing.
Thursday. Our RSVP Cards arrived in the mail. I designed our entire invitation suite in Canva because I wanted all of the fonts to be consistent across our signage, table numbers, and invitiations. Our invites and envelopes are also on their way. I’m really excited to get everything mailed out. I think we will probably mail them all out end of July.
Friday. Andrew’s work hosted a lunchtime cookout on Friday. They grilled up all the usuals; burgers, hotdogs, and brauts. It’s always fun getting to meet and get to know his coworkers and it was a fun way to kickoff the weekend.
After work, we decided to take a rest day from the gym and try out our new lounge chair floaties at the pool. I got them on sale at Target for $8 and we were dying to float around the pool in them. 10/10 would recommend.
Saturday. We decided to get all of our grocery shopping and meal prep out of the way so we could have a relaxing and productive Sunday at the house. We started our day at the gym for a heavy leg day and then headed straight to Costco and Harris Teeter. We came home and meal prepped all of our proteins for the week. I find that I stick to my diet more easily if there are proteins already cooked and ready to go. I still like to make my veggies fresh on the spot for each meal, but cooking proteins ahead of time takes a huge chunk of the legwork out of cooking each meal.
Sunday. We woke up early to a dreary, rainy day. It was 70-something degrees when we woke up and just seemed like the perfect weather to get a walk in with the girlies. It has been so hot here these past several weeks, they have not been able to be outside for hours like they want to be. After our walk, I threw in a load of laundry and then showered. I had some items till son my grocery list that I wanted to get at Trader Joe’s and wanted to get there before it got too crowded.
I found this new Organic Bone Broth and Propolis shots at Trader Joe’s that I am trying out this week. I’m constantly surprised by the affordability and innovation of Trader Joe’s products. Propolis has wonderful antibacterial, antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and antifungal properties. I bought four of them to try and I’m hoping it will help with my allergies.
After a quick lunch, we headed to the gym.
Dinner for me lately has been a huge kale salad. I swap out the protein for whatever I have on hand. I had turkey meatballs on Sunday and added sliced figs, red onions, some blue cheese crumbles, and a drizzle of hot honey. It was so yummy.
Thats all for day friends! I’m off to go spend some money on Prime day now. 😊
Always,
